Everything Cate Blanchett Wears in ‘Don’t Look Up’

Dress like a comet is heading your way.

Twenty years of red carpet appearances make it clear: Cate Blanchett is one of the most glamorous actors alive. Her role in Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up is no exception: Well-dressed talk-show host Brie Evantee nearly steals the movie, and manages to — spoiler alert! successfully steal Leonardo DiCaprio’s Dr. Mindy away from his wife as well. How did she do it? Well, by looking good. Take a look at the very best of Brie Evantee.

Lady in red

The first time we see Evantee, she’s dressed in a bold red dress, matching the logo of her talk show, The Daily Rip

Patriotic poise

When Dr. Mindy appears on The Daily Rip again, Evantee has cycled into the next color of the American flag. (One imagines she’s constantly flipping between the three in order to subliminally remind her audience where they live.) The collar here is giving Hunger Games’ Effie Trinket a run for her money.

Out-of-this-world style

This is Brie’s “rocket launch” outfit, and it’s a cute one. She’s keeping it low key, wearing glasses (all the better to see you with, my comet) and a nice cozy sweater.

Va-va-va-voom!

Brie’s “I’m being confronted by my lover’s scorned wife” outfit is a red leather corset. If that isn’t the perfect opportunity to wear such a statement item, what is?

Pleasantly plum

Brie is wearing purple here, possibly as some kind of gambit to convince the nation to come together in the face of unspeakable tragedy (Hillary Clinton made a similar choice when conceding the 2016 election to Donald Trump).

Curtain call

For her last outfit before the comet hits, Brie dons a somber black jacket and a few shiny bangles on her wrist. While some people carefully choose the outfit they’ll be buried in, this is what Brie will die in. Call it The Daily RIP
