Ransom Canyon Season 2 Deleted Scene: Staten Steps in When a Calf Comes Early

In Season 2 of Ransom Canyon, Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel) is determined to prove — to his father, Sam (Brett Cullen), who has reclaimed control of the family’s Double K Ranch — that he’s capable of handling the harsh realities of Texas cattle country. “When Sam decides to come back, it really throws a wrench into their relationship,” says Duhamel. “Sam never really took an interest in the ranch. Staten learned everything from his grandfather.”

In this exclusive deleted scene, Staten gets the chance. When neighboring rancher Yancy Grey (Jack Schumacher) calls for help after one of his cows goes into unexpected early labor, Staten steps in to deliver the calf. As the newborn finds its footing in the Texas grass, Staten watches with the quiet satisfaction of someone who knows exactly why the work matters. “It gets me every time,” he tells Yancy, meaning the miracle of life. Watch it all unfold above, only on Tudum.
