Major League Baseball’s 2026 T-Mobile Home Run Derby is nearly here and the first confirmed slugger has unfinished business.
Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero — last year’s Derby runner-up — confirmed that he will take part in the upcoming festivities on July 13 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, streaming live on Netflix.
Caminero enters the Derby as one of baseball’s biggest power threats. The reigning American League Player of the Week is among the top home run hitters this season, with 22 to his name, including seven in the past week.
A year ago, Caminero finished second to Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh in the 2025 T-Mobile Home Run Derby’s dramatic final round.

The 2026 Major League Baseball season marks Netflix’s first season of MLB coverage and began with Opening Night between the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants on March 25.
