Walker powered his way to the Derby crown at Citizens Bank Park. Here’s how the night unfolded on Netflix.
The most-watched skills competition in sports crowned a new champion live on Netflix.
The 2026 T-Mobile Home Run Derby brought together Major League Baseball’s top sluggers to compete for the crown and ultimate bragging rights — streaming live to fans around the world.
This year’s competition featured a new format, legendary voices, and the kind of unique experiences only Netflix can bring to the diamond.
First-time MLB All-Star and Derby participant Jordan Walker of the St. Louis Cardinals dramatically defeated the league's current home run leader Kyle Schwarber of the hometown Philadelphia Phillies 12-11. He became the first Cardinals player to ever win the Derby.
Walker hit 31 total home runs in the competition with six over 450 feet, including one that measured 470 feet.
Phillies legend and 2006 Home Run Derby champ Ryan Howard presented Walker with the derby chain to celebrate the victory.

For the first time in a decade, Major League Baseball removed the timer from the T-Mobile Home Run Derby, allowing players to hit as many homers as possible with their allotted swings per round. Eight players hit individually, with the top four advancing to the semifinals. The top two players — Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies and Jordan Walker of the St. Louis Cardinals — then moved on to the finals where Walker was crowned champion.
“I love the new format,” Netflix play-by-play lead Matt Vasgersian tells Tudum. “I think it's smart because of the fatigue that the players felt with the timer. Not only during the event, but in the ensuing games and weeks after the event — a lot of that was related to the clock.
“Guys can swing the bat at their own pace,” he continues. “This is more of a glorified batting practice round now than it is a sprint and I think the fans will respond to it too, because it could lead to bigger homers.”
Former San Francisco Giants great Hunter Pence — who was part of the Netflix broadcast team — shares everything you need to know about the updated rules for the T-Mobile Home Run Derby.

MLB legends Barry Bonds, CC Sabathia, Anthony Rizzo and Pence teamed up with Elle Duncan, Matt Vasgersian, and Lauren Shehadi to cover the T-Mobile Home Run Derby like never before.
Bonds himself participated in the event six times, winning the 1996 crown over Mark McGwire.
The MLB roster for the 2026 T-Mobile Home Run Derby included:
A year ago in Atlanta, Seattle Mariners All-Star Cal Raleigh became the first catcher to win the T-Mobile Home Run Derby. With his dad pitching and his brother catching, Raleigh beat Caminero, 18–15, in the finals.
To date, Major League Baseball’s top home run hitters are Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies (32 home runs), Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros (29), Ben Rice of the New York Yankees (28), Hunter Goodman of the Colorado Rockies (27), and Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays (27).

In celebration of MLB’s reveal of this year’s T-Mobile Home Run Derby chain, Netflix created an official derby truck that visited the East Coast ahead of the festivities in Philadelphia.
Before arriving in Philadelphia on July 11, the derby truck made stops in Boston (July 8), Cooperstown (July 9) and New York City (July 10) giving away ice cream in Netflix baseball helmets and Derby t-shirts.
