Santiago and Emily

The first couple to get engaged are Santiago and Emily, following a strong premonition that Santiago had. When Emily tells Santiago her name during their first date, Santiago is visibly shaken and is moved to tears — he tells her that he dreamed about a girl named Emi. After getting to know each other better in the pods, he feels strongly in his heart that they’re meant to be soulmates. “I came here as one person and now I’m someone else,” Santiago says after getting engaged. Out in the real world, however, it’s apparent that Santiago and Emily’s personalities aren’t as compatible. They have different communication styles that often lead to misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Santiago is ready to walk away before their wedding day, but the two talk things over and ultimatley choose to recommit and tie the knot. They know their journey will be ever-evolving: “[Being with Emi] made me start to have more empathy and to listen more actively,” Santiago says. “Love is definitely blind,” Emily adds.

At the reunion, the couple share they’re still together — the two traveled to Europe on their honeymoon. Although they still get into heated arguments, Emily says they’re both learning how to navigate their emotions. And when it comes to professional soccer — a sport they both obsess over — they’ve found that it’s best to watch games with their own families, since Emily and Santiago are devoted to rival teams.

Mauricio and María Emilia

“This one is a reminder for all women, regardless of age, who believe that it is not possible to find love,” María Emilia says after seeing Mauricio for the first time. The connection between them is palpable from the beginning — both Mauricio and María Emilia are in their early 40s, both are parents, and both were ready to find their life partner. Their initial meeting is electric. “That first kiss is the one I’ve been waiting for,” Mauricio says. The rose-colored glasses come off once the couple starts living together: Mauricio’s obsession with appearances and staying fit makes María Emilia insecure; especially given how quick he is to criticize her lifestyle and how she dresses. The two make it to their wedding day but, in an unexpected twist, María Emilia says no at the altar. “[I’m] frustrated by the lack of effective accountability and behavior patterns that caused me pain,” she tells him in front of their guests. María Emilia elaborates that she and Mauricio wouldn’t be in a healthy relationship if they got married, and that she’s looking for a partner who accepts her fully. 

At the reunion, Mauricio shares that he’s evolved since the cameras stopped rolling. He’s learned from the mistakes he’s made with María Emilia and has since started dating Erica, another former participant from the pods who didn’t initially get engaged. “I’m going to take what you told me so I can keep growing for my daughter and for my loved ones,” Mauricio reads to María Emilia from an apology letter he had written. “Thank you for having the courage and the maturity to say no at the altar.”

Tom and Florfi

It’s clear that there’s instant chemistry between these two singles — both are a bit reserved, perhaps introverted, or as Tom puts it, “calm.” Tom and Florfi can sense that they can match each other’s low-key but intriguing vibe, and they confess to having a crush on each other in the early pod stage. Eventually, Tom breaks up with Florencia in order to propose to Florfi, and a face-to-face meeting follows to great success. “I confirm that the experiment went well,” Florfi says. Out in the real world, though, Florfi expresses her doubts — she tells Tom that getting married so quickly doesn’t sit right with her. She reiterates that they actually don’t know each other well enough to make such a life-altering decision. Off-camera, Florfi says she needs more time to date Tom — so the couple leaves the experiment before the wedding-day fittings. “In our own time, I think our relationship will continue to blossom,” Florfi says.

At the reunion, when the hosts catch up with the couple, Tom shares that the two are no longer together but that they’ve remained close and are still in contact. Tom and Florfi say they tried to keep dating outside the experiment, but Tom recalls that their chemistry began “fading by the minute” once the couple removed themselves from the cameras. In the end, they split amicably.

Ezequiel and Julieta

“I feel that you opened your heart and gave me your soul,” Ezequiel tells Julieta, right before he proposes to her. The pair initially hit it off, joking that linking up could be advantageous for both of them, business-wise. But once they dig deeper, Julieta — who has been living independently since she was a teenager — is impressed by Ezequiel’s self-starter attitude (which may be attributed to him growing up without a father figure). However, their first meeting doesn’t go as smoothly. “It was a nice moment, but it was awkward. I need to [control] my nerves a little bit and process it,” Julieta says. But once they get to know each other better, an emotional bond between them grows. And while there are a few hiccups — Julieta is more closed off physically than Ezequiel would like — the pair say they both got what they wanted from participating in the experiment, and they tie the knot. “I arrived at the altar having found love,” Julieta says. “I am pretty sure love is blind,” Ezequiel affirms.
 

At the reunion, however, the couple report that they’ve called it quits. After the intensity of the experiment faded, Julieta says they were mutually feeling a “different tune” about being married. The two decided they’re better off as friends than as romantic partners, and they’ve remained close and text almost every day. Host Wanda Nara tells Julieta that the experiment still seems like a success because Julieta has found “a person for life” in Ezequiel.

Roberto and Eva

Roberto, a rancher, may have found a partner in crime in Eva, who tells him, “I love the livestock industry.” He already leads a lifestyle she pines for, as she’s eager to leave the city and “live in nature.” She is especially moved after he shares a personal story about taking care of his sister who had almost died from a heart attack. She sees Roberto, who shows love and loyalty to his family, as someone who can help break down her trust issues with men. During the romantic getaway phase of the experiment, however, any chemistry that developed between them in the pods dissipates quickly. Eva is frustrated that she’s making all the decisions; Roberto feels that his reserved demeanor isn’t the best fit for her assertiveness. At the end of their time together at the resort, Roberto and Eva break up.

At the reunion, Roberto reveals that he and Agustina, another participant from the pods who didn’t initially get engaged, started quietly dating after the experiment wrapped and that they’re still together today.

Florencia and José Luis

After the romantic getaway stage is over and the rest of the engaged couples return to Buenos Aires, we come to learn that Florencia and José Luis continued to quietly date after the pods. Florencia says she had messaged José Luis last-minute before her flight back home and they’ve been together since. The two rejoin the experiment for the living-together stage, surprising everyone. “We got the opportunity to know each other away from the cameras, and without knowing if we’d come back,” Florencia says. The pair eventually work through their challenges, such as José Luis wanting closure with Julieta, and Florencia’s consistent need for validation. In the end, it’s happily ever after for the couple — they get married. “There’s no turning back,” Florencia says.

At the reunion, the couple reveal that they’re living happily ever after at José Luis’s house that Florencia has since moved into. She quit her job, sold all of her belongings, and showed up to his home with her four cats, who have all been adopted by José Luis, as well. “We suffered through some things [but] I believe that the relationship became stronger day by day,” he says of married life. José Luis then got down on a knee and presented Florencia with a set of engraved rings (from a ring box shaped like a cat’s paw, no less) as further validation that the two will “continue a life together.” 

Matías and Brenda 

The two shared an emotional bond over their experiences with grief: Matías had lost both his parents; Brenda struggled to date after the passing of her husband. Even though the couple had gotten engaged, when the two meet face-to-face, Matías told Brenda that he “got carried away” and that he’d like to take a step back privately before moving onto the next stage. “It hurts me because I really, really wanted a ring on my hand,” Brenda says, though she claims to be willing to give him a chance off-camera.

At the reunion, when host Wanda Nara catches up with Brenda and Matías, she learns that the couple stopped dating after leaving the experiment. Matías says he had doubts going into the engagement and that his issues had nothing to do with Brenda — he shares that they tried to make it work and that he even met Brenda’s children. In the end, he felt as though he was in a “bubble” while in the pods and that the relationship didn’t sustain in real life. For Brenda, she still considers the experiment a success because she had learned that it’s possible for her to fall in love sight unseen. “For me, love is totally blind,” she says.
