Being a Good Samaritan has its rewards, but for the Mathis family, sheltering a young girl in their home is about to have grave consequences. Based on Daria Polatin’s bestselling novel and inspired by a true story, Devil in Ohio is a shocking tale of demonic mayhem. When psychiatrist Dr. Suzanne Mathis (Emily Deschanel) welcomes a mysterious patient (Madeleine Arthur) into her home, the young girl’s presence is about to jeopardize the entire family and lead them down a path of darkness. But before you press play, get to know the characters in this chilling tale and the actors who portray them.

As a hospital psychiatrist, Dr. Suzanne Mathis has enough on her plate already. With a demanding day job and three daughters at home, she’s not always the best at work-life balance. After meeting a new patient named Mae, Suzanne shelters the traumatized girl in her home, hoping to give her a safe place to stay while she awaits foster care placement. Little does Suzanne know that Mae’s presence is about to throw her family into chaos.
