It’s been a long road for Jodi (Ava Michelle) and Dunkleman (Griffin Gluck) to reach the point of Tall Girl and Milk Crate boy love.
By the end of the first movie, love finally prevailed and Dunk won over the girl of his dreams — despite Jodi’s short-lived romance with a tall foreign exchange student. But when we meet the friends-turned-lovers in Tall Girl 2, it isn’t just smooth sailing. Not only is Jodi anxious about her role in the school play, but the best friends-turned-more-than-friends also endure their fair share of trials in their three-month relationship: Miscommunications, first breakups, and a (spoiler alert) spur-of-the-moment kiss with someone else. It really was the Ross and Rachel equivalent of “we were on a break!”
Like Ross and Rachel, we’ve all been there, and, in the end, romance does prevail. After all, as their favorite Backstreet Boys song goes, “I don’t care who you are, where you’re from, what you did… as long as you love me.”
