Your Guardian Angel: Watch These Iconic Keanu Reeves Roles on Netflix

The Speed actor has no shortage of instantly recognizable characters to his name.

The name Keanu Reeves likely conjures up one of a few immediate associations, depending on whom you ask: a famously affable actor forever linked to his breakout role as an eponymous time-traveler in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989); a bullet-dodging hacker named Neo, aka The One, from the Wachowskis’ seminal 1999 sci-fi film The Matrix and its sequels; or a perpetual badass for over a decade as John Wick — Reeves did many of his own stunts in the John Wick films, cementing his place in the action hero hall of fame.

A hustler (My Own Private Idaho), an exorcist (Constantine), a rock star (Cyberpunk 2077), and now Aziz Ansari’s well-intentioned but inept guardian angel (Good Fortune) — the list of Reeves’s iconic characters continues to grow. The movies below, available to watch on Netflix, only add to that list: a disgraced samurai, a surfing FBI agent, a parody version of himself, and more.

To the Bone

Reeves stars alongside Lily Collins (Emily in Paris) in this 2017 drama from writer and director Marti Noxon that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. In To the Bone, Collins plays Ellen, who’s battling anorexia, while Reeves plays Dr. William Beckham, a specialist who thinks his in-patient program — in which Ellen would move into a home with six other patients — will help her recover. The film co-stars Carrie Preston, Lili Taylor, Alex Sharp, Leslie Bibb, Retta, and more.

Always Be My Maybe

Never has Reeves’s brand — or his self-awareness — been arguably as strong as it is in Always Be My Maybe, a romantic comedy about two childhood friends, Sasha (Ali Wong) and Marcus (Randall Park), who had a brief fling as teenagers but lost touch after a personal tragedy. Years later, their lives couldn’t be more different: Sasha is an accomplished chef and restaurateur, and Marcus is a talented musician who lacks direction. But the spark is still there, if they can only get their timing right …

Also starring James Saito, Michelle Buteau, and Daniel Dae Kim, this heartfelt rom-com features Reeves as a big-time “movie star” version of himself, and the less you know about his role going in, the better. Just trust us.

Bram Stoker's Dracula

Director Francis Ford Coppola’s Oscar-winning take on the classic vampire tale from author Bram Stoker stars Gary Oldman as Count Dracula. He becomes obsessed with Winona Ryder’s (Stranger Things) Mina Harker after her solicitor husband, Jonathan Harker (Reeves), takes Dracula on as a client. Believing Mina to be the reincarnation of his one true love, Elisabeta, Dracula will stop at nothing to bring her under his control. Can Jonathan work with the legendary Van Helsing (Anthony Hopkins) to save his bride, or will evil reign supreme in this classic of Gothic horror?
