Over the first five episodes of Love Is Blind Season 11, the Boston singles have dodged love bombs, found themselves in messy love triangles, and been haunted by enough ghosting to make us wonder if the city’s proximity to Salem has had undue influence on its daters.
But the Bostonians have also forged strong bonds over Dunkin’ orders — nothing says meant-to-be like matching black cold brews — had tough but productive conversations about political differences, and fallen hahd. One Kennedy-esque young man may have even found his very own Jackie. Six couples — John and Sarah, Wilson and Wilnie, Cam and Aneha, Stew and Jax, Blake and Erika, and Rob and Michaella — ultimately emerged from the pods engaged, though not every reveal went off without a hitch.
From there, the five couples jetted off to Mexico to discover if their physical connections match the strong emotional bonds they developed in the pods. Then, back in Boston, reality sets in, as the fiancées start to blend their lives — from families to finances — as their wedding days inch closer. Keep reading for a recap of everything that went down in the first eight episodes and to find out who’s still together, as the couples move on to the next phase of the experiment.

John and Sarah’s first meeting is magic, and not just because they bond over their shared love of Harry Potter. The two talk about everything from Christianity (he’s religious, but she isn’t) to music (they both enjoy Taylor Swift a reasonable amount). But after their second date, John leaves the pod door open, and Sarah overhears him saying he had initially ranked her in his bottom two. When she confronts him, he explains that he only put her low on his list because he didn’t think she was all that into him, clearing up the misunderstanding.
Sarah also builds a connection with certified Swiftie Morrey, but ends it when she realizes he’s struggling to open up. John, on the other hand, has no problem getting vulnerable and finally tells Sarah about his MS diagnosis. The admission leads to an intense conversation about America’s healthcare system, and the two dive into controversial topics like vaccines and reproductive rights. While Sarah doesn’t entirely agree with John’s opinions, she understands his point of view and explains her own perspective as a healthcare professional. John is “blown away” by her convictions and enjoys being challenged by her, so he eventually pops the question. Their first meeting unfolds without disappointment, and they head off to Mexico together.

At the couples mixer in Mexico, John is excited to show off his muscles — in Sarah’s shirt, no less — and his new fiancée. While there, the women ask Sarah if John is as conservative as he seemed in the pods, and she explains that they’ve had lengthy discussions about a variety of issues, and she hasn’t been put off by anything he’s had to say. She has, however, been turned off by all the beard hair he leaves in the sink, but hopefully he’ll learn.
Back in Boston, after witnessing John get so easily frustrated over lost luggage and paying an electric bill over the phone, Sarah starts to worry about his temper. He hears out her concerns and reassures her that she makes him want to be more patient and understanding. John introduces Sarah to his family, and despite their fears that his parents would have a problem with her not being Christian, the topic of religion doesn’t come up. They seem to recognize that she’s a good fit for their son.

Even through the wall, Wilnie feels “electricity” when she initially talks to Wilson. The two kick things off by discussing their families of origin and the one they hope to someday build — possibly even together, if this experiment goes well. By Episode 2, Wilnie suspects she might be falling for Wilson, but he’s also growing close to Malaine. When Malaine’s strongest connection breaks things off with her, however, she exits, leaving Wilnie to deliver the news to Wilson. Along with that update, she also gives him her mom’s wedding band, which she hopes to one day pass down to their daughter. Heartened by the gesture, Wilson shares that he hasn’t always felt worthy of love, and soon after, he proposes to Wilnie with her mother’s wedding band. She excitedly accepts, and both are thrilled when they lay eyes on one another for the very first time.

On vacation in Mexico, Wilnie says that despite never having been in a relationship with a Black man, Wilson is very much her type — even if he doesn’t allow “outside clothes” on the bed. When the topic of Wilson’s other pod connection comes up at the first couples mixer, Wilson maintains that he has no way of knowing how the experiment would have played out had he been given the chance to talk to Malaine again. Although that doesn’t make Wilnie feel good, she insists that she doesn’t think he did anything wrong in the pods, so they agree to put the issue behind them.
The two turn their attention toward figuring out how to split household duties like cooking and cleaning once they return to Boston. Wilson says he wants a partner to share those responsibilities, but he starts to feel that Wilnie now expects him to work twice as hard — from carrying her luggage through the airport to cleaning the bathroom. They visit each other’s homes and talk finances. Wilson even meets her friends and sister, who seem to like him but also support Wilnie’s desire to be taken care of by her husband.

Not only does Aneha laugh at Cam’s cheesy dad jokes, she also dishes her own right back at him. But it’s not all giggles on their pod dates. As they get to know one another, Aneha and Cam talk about their shared spirituality and the financial struggles both their families faced when they were growing up. She also opens up about her uncertainty over having kids. Aneha is taken with Cam’s sweet side, and he enjoys her bubbly energy. But he’s also connecting with Malaine, who just so happens to be Aneha’s pod squad bestie — awkward. Soon, though, Cam realizes he’s fallen for Aneha and officially chooses her.
The two agree they’re “great together,” so he gets down on one knee. They exchange I love yous, then meet face to face and, of course, pull out some puns. Though Aneha initially says Cam is not her normal type — and even suggests they “elevate” his look with a piercing — in Mexico, the two finally share their first kiss, and she takes notice of his height and strong arms. Maybe he is her type after all? Appreciating Cam’s even temper, Aneha says she hasn’t felt this at peace in years — though you wouldn’t necessarily know it based on how much she talks during their couples massage. Still, she worries that her family may not accept Cam because he’s white and not Hindu.

It turns out, Aneha is right to be concerned. Once they get their phones back in Boston, her parents tell her that they don’t want to meet Cam. Aneha and Cam discuss whether they’d be willing to get married without her parents’ involvement and decide to continue with the experiment. This means seeing each other’s spaces, which raises questions about where they’ll live and how much rent they’re each willing to pay once they’re married. Aneha also meets Cam’s sister, who warns that he isn’t much of a planner or decision maker. With this potential red flag in the back of her mind, Aneha confronts Cam about being “cold” toward her since leaving the pods. But Cam expresses that he could say the same thing of Aneha, who he feels has been testing him. After talking it out, the two agree not to play games with each other, which ironically helps them restore their playful dynamic. Cue the dad jokes over dinner.

In their initial pod conversations, Blake and Erika discover that they’ve previously been on parallel paths. Both used to live in San Diego, and while there, she opened a hard kombucha brewery, and he started a distillery. After uncovering those SoCal beverage connections, Blake and Erika begin to build a bond, and Blake, now a sailor, floats the idea of her someday joining him at sea. The two discuss his unconventional lifestyle and her previous marriage, neither of which are deal-breakers for the other. They also get into family planning and discuss how his work would affect their future home life.
As the spark between them intensifies, Blake shares that he’s also dating someone else in the experiment, which bothers Erika. On their next date, he makes a poorly timed joke about his growing interest in Benita, his other connection. Erika’s feelings are hurt, so she leaves the pods. Though Blake’s connection with Benita eventually breaks down, Erika’s walls are still up. Once she receives a sign from the universe in the form of a clock reading 5:55 — big change incoming! — and reassurance from Blake, she’s finally sure of her “big feelings.” The two get engaged and definitely like what they see once they meet.

In Mexico, Blake and Erika give themselves space to fall in love, holding off on discussing the logistics of where and how they’d eventually live. Erika is thrilled to finally be with someone who makes her laugh, instead of the stuffy finance guys she’s used to. But she recognizes that Blake’s work will come with its own unique challenges. While living together in New England, the couple begin looking at properties in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. But Erika seems to be holding out hope that Blake might want to eventually settle down with her at her home in rural Connecticut, which they tour together. Though he’s definitely impressed with the beautiful space, Blake admits that he may feel trapped spending all his time there. And, without a home base, Erika knows she’d feel untethered, so keeping their relationship afloat long-term would take compromise.

When Michaella tells Rob that her career as a retail consultant is her top priority, he isn’t sold. From there, though, their date conversations turn to family and the type of parents they hope to one day be. At the same time, Rob is dating Diana, who he says is his number one. In Episode 4, Rob gets brutally honest with Michaella, admitting that he initially thought she was a “dud.” Since then, however, he’s grown to appreciate her emotional maturity and patience, which are on full display as she laughs off his false first impression — and laughs along with his constant Trump impressions. Both agree that they led with insecurity but have since gotten to know one another on a deeper level. Michaella tells Rob that he’s everything she’s ever wanted, and he says that she truly understands him.
Believing that Diana is exactly his type physically, Rob remains a bit torn. Finally, he decides there’s more depth to his relationship with Michaella and is ready to take the chance on a different kind of connection. He gifts her a bracelet from Ireland that reminds him of his late father, who made him who he is, and soon after, ends things with Diana. Next, Rob tells Michaella he loves her, and the two become the final Season 11 couple to get engaged.

The reveal goes well, and in Mexico, they discover their physical compatibility lives up to their emotional one. The rest of the pod squad is delighted to see how well Rob and Michaella complement one another. The two seem to be totally in sync, from their morning routines to what they want their life together to look like in the next four years. Spoiler alert: Their Christmas Eve celebrations are going to be “bangers.”
Well on their way to the altar, Rob and Michaella move in together, and he introduces her to his mom and brother. Since Rob’s mother is the most important person in his life, the pressure is on. Even as a fan of the Love Is Blind experiment, his mom points out that Rob and Michaella have been living in a bubble. However, she has to admit she’s impressed with their connection. At the end of the meeting, Rob and his family toast his late father, who his mom says would have loved Michaella. Easing out of that bubble, the couple check out his bachelor pad. There, they talk about where they’ll live once they’re married and the weight of the decision to say “I do.”

Stew and Jax complete their first pod date with flying colors, quickly discovering that they both take pride in their “exceptional taste.” Soon, they’re turning their shared eye for aesthetics toward planning a hypothetical wedding. The two seem perfectly aligned on a creative vision for the big day. Jax is also floored when Stew guesses her dream ring, down to the emerald-cut diamond and white gold band — not platinum. A few dates in, they begin to get to know one another on a deeper level, with Stew posing the question, “Who are you?” Through a conversation about her favorite, fittingly New England–y show, Family Guy, Jax is finally able to open up, and it’s exactly what Stew is looking for.
When Stew reveals that he’s never been in love, Jax worries he may have serious commitment issues. Still, she can’t ignore the signs, from his engagement ring guess to their shared Phantom of the Opera obsession. So when Stew proposes, Jax says yes to “being part of the most stylish couple in the Hamptons.” When the two finally meet, however, she doesn’t seem too sure about his style. In fact, Jax tells Stew that he looks more like Mitt Romney than any Kennedy, despite what others in the pod squad have supposedly said. Immediately after the reveal, which she says “wasn’t romantic for me,” Jax exits the experiment without speaking with Stew, leaving him unsure of their relationship status. Episode 5 ends with a cliffhanger back in Boston, as Jax and Stew prepare to meet up for the very first time post-pods.

In Episode 6, Stew and Jax meet up back in Boston. She admits that he didn’t deserve to be ghosted and explains that she was overwhelmed by the idea of seeing if their compatibility actually worked in person. Since leaving the experiment, Jax’s friends and family have been encouraging her to see where things with Stew go. However, she’s still hung up on the fact that she wasn’t “blown away” by their connection at the reveal and wonders if they’re better just as friends. Stew still thinks they’re well suited for one another, but the lack of effort Jax put into meeting up made him question if what they’d built in the pods was real. After a long discussion, the two leave the meetup with a lot left to figure out.
