You thought Isaiah Stiles was done chasing Coltrane Wilder? Think again.

Nemesis, the hit crime thriller created by Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Marole, is returning. “I feel blessed to get a Season 2,” Kemp tells Tudum. “We thank the fans, it’s because of them — there’s no other reason. It's them showing up, them talking about it, and their huge social media response… We are grateful to Netflix for recognizing the power of our audience and bringing us back for the fans.”

Season 2 will see hotshot Detective Stiles (Matthew Law) and prolific thief Wilder (Y’lan Noel) continue their cat-and-mouse chase through the streets of Los Angeles. “We’re going to make sure questions get answered, and even more questions are available for you to answer,” Marole tells Tudum. “Make no mistake, Season 2 is going to be bigger and better.”

When we last saw the cops and robbers of Nemesis, they were facing off on opposite ends of the law, with Stiles’s son Noah (Cedric Joe) caught in the middle. To save his child, Stiles allowed Wilder to make a run for it. Wilder got the final word: “You were never gonna win!” Now, Stiles will have a chance to respond.

“We didn’t pitch this concept without an idea of what we would do in Season 2,” Kemp says. “It’s going to be bigger and more intense, and we’re going to complicate the conflict between these two.”

Kemp and Marole promise Season 2 will pick up the story in “unexpected” fashion. “For me, what’s the most gratifying is people really getting attached to and focusing on the female characters,” Kemp says. “We had a lot of people ask for more of Charlie and Ebony’s background, and I think that is a place we’d love to explore.”

Of course, there will also be new characters joining the fight. “We killed a lot of people [in Season 1],” Marole notes.

And the pair have a few family trees from which to pick new characters. “Most African American families are large,” Kemp teases. Are there more Stiles and Wilders out there to meet? Only time will tell.

Nemesis Season 2 will return to production soon. While you wait, (re)watch Season 1 of Nemesis now.
