You’ve seen Jason Momoa as Aquaman and a Dothraki warlord, but now you’ll see him like never before.
The teaser trailer for the upcoming adventure film Slumberland introduces us to a girl named Nemo, played by Marlow Barkley (Single Parents), who has just lost her father (Kyle Chandler). After discovering a secret map leading her to the dreamworld of Slumberland, she meets Flip, an eccentric outlaw (Momoa) who helps her wander through her dreams and flee nightmares, with the hope that she’ll be able to see her father again.
Everything is turned upside down in Slumberland, where all your greatest wishes can come true. From jet-setting through the clouds to sailing across the sea, Flip takes Nemo through her wildest fantasies, giving the phrase “sweet dreams” a whole new meaning.
“In the movie, Nemo’s relationship with Flip starts off rocky because he doesn’t want her to be there, but she hangs on to this connection with Flip because she thinks he can help her find her dad,” says Barkley. But off screen, Barkley and Momoa’s relationship was, well... dreamy. “He made me feel so welcomed,” says the actor. “We would joke around on set, racing each other and singing funny songs. He made me feel like we had known each other for years.”
The film is directed by Francis Lawrence, who brought the dystopian world of The Hunger Games to life on the big screen — and there’s no doubt that his latest adventure will be a visionary spectacle.
